The PII Firewall Chrome Extension automatically protects your conversations on major AI platforms and email services — no configuration required after installation.

PlatformProtection
ChatGPTInput masking + injection detection
Claude (claude.ai)Input masking + injection detection
Google GeminiInput masking + injection detection
GmailIncoming email injection detection
Outlook (Web)Incoming email injection detection

Installation

  1. Open the Chrome Web Store (coming soon — apply for early access at piifirewall.com)
  2. Click Add to Chrome
  3. Confirm permissions and click Add Extension
  4. The PII Firewall icon will appear in your browser toolbar

How It Works

Once installed, the extension runs silently in the background:

  1. You type a message in ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini as normal
  2. Before the message is sent, PII Firewall scans the text
  3. Any detected PII is replaced with a masked token (e.g., [EMAIL-1])
  4. The masked message is sent to the AI
  5. The AI response is returned and your original data is restored locally

Example:

Troubleshooting

The extension isn't masking my input

  • Make sure the extension is enabled (check the toolbar icon)
  • Try refreshing the page
  • Ensure you are on a supported platform

The AI response looks different than expected

  • This is normal — masked tokens in the AI's response are restored before display
  • If restoration fails, check that you have an active session
