What is PII Firewall? PII Firewall is a privacy layer that sits between you and AI services. It automatically detects and masks personal information in your prompts before they are sent, then restores your data in the AI's response.
Does it work with any AI service? The Chrome Extension works with ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini. The REST API and SDK can be integrated with any AI service.
Is my data stored on your servers? No. Original personal data never leaves your device. Only masked tokens are transmitted. See Privacy & Security for details.
Setup & Installation
How long does setup take? Installing the Chrome Extension takes under 5 minutes. The SDK can be integrated in a single line of code.
Do I need an account? A free account is required. Sign up at piifirewall.com — no credit card needed for the Free plan.
Does it work on mobile? The Web App works on mobile browsers. The Chrome Extension currently supports desktop Chrome only.
Detection & Accuracy
What types of personal data are detected? 24 types including names, emails, phone numbers, credit cards, passport numbers, addresses, and more. See the full list in Privacy & Security.
What languages are supported? English and Japanese are fully supported. Additional languages are planned.
Can I add custom detection rules? Custom patterns are available on the Business and Enterprise plans via the API.
Pricing & Plans
What is included in the Free plan? 100 credits/month, standard PII detection (8 types), and basic injection detection. No credit card required.
What counts as one credit? One API call (detect, mask, or restore) consumes one credit regardless of text length.
Can I upgrade or downgrade at any time? Yes. Plan changes take effect at the start of the next billing cycle.
Enterprise
Do you offer on-premise deployment? Yes. Contact us at enterprise@piifirewall.com for self-hosted options.
Is there an SLA? Enterprise plans include a 99.9% uptime SLA and dedicated support.
Can we integrate with our existing security tools? Yes. The REST API and SDK support integration with SIEM, DLP, and other enterprise security tools.
